Economy Good, Jobs Gone!

While America is temporarily propped up on the largest amount of consumer debt in history the economy has continued to show signs of returning to stability but is this all just an illusion?

At a recent public appearance the President appeared quite pleased when a small business owner in the audience committed to providing two new jobs in the coming year.

Unfortunately when I read about people loosing jobs it is always in the thousands so I think we will need a substantially larger commitment for new jobs before claiming victory.

Small Businesses Spending UP!

IT spendinig by small and mid-sized companies continues to grow but unfortunately alot of the jobs that would traditionally be generated by this growth in the technology arena have already been outsourced to foreigh countries with larger labor pools and lower wages.

If this situation had been nipped in the bud early on then we would not be in such dire straights. With the President diverting our attention to the War in Iraq, 9/11, the threat of terrorism looming, and the corporate raiding that has robbed millions of Americans of their life savings we were a little to preoccupied to see what was happening.

We might have been able to use traditional grass roots efforts to slow the erossion of jobs had we seen this coming but now it is to late for that.

The only way for government to reduce the flow of jobs out of this country is to impose tariffs on those companies that want to give American jobs away to the lowest bidders in other countries while they prop up their coroprate profits.

 Stop Bush!

President Bush continues to claim victory in a war that is not over and never should have been started in the first place. America has neither the right nor the will to sacrifice their children in order to to impose the will of our self righteous leaders.

The war in Iraq will never end until the people their learn to get along with one another just as they have learned to do so in many other parts of the world. Surely the President has heard that “you can lead a horse to water but you can not make it drink”.

If America were to deploy troops to every region of the world with evil dictators that could potentially pose a threat to our security we would need one heck of alot more men.

Meanwhile Americans loose jobs by the hundred of thousands because wealthy corporate contributors that have benefited from the Presidents tax cuts are stuffing his coffers for re-election. This will allow them continue sending jobs overseas and to prop up their corporate profits.

We will have to choose this year between the lesser of two evils but the lesser evil in this case is quite clear. Barring the introduction of a legitimate Independant Presidential canidate we must vote John Kerry for President.

While I have my own reservations regarding his ability to act without the influence of special interests I think he has earned the right to be given this opportunity. His strong support of states rights and the rights of individuals is something we need now!

I would appeall to all voters not to be swayed by the club of inconsistancy that Mr. Bush has been swinging and to more carefully consider the reasons why John Kerry may have voted in ways that may appear to conflict.

Only last week several leaders that originally proposed a piece of gun control legistlation had to vote against it because the bill which resulted bore no resemblance to the original draft that they presented and would not have effected the changes that the bill was intended to provide.
